1. Will I get enough vegatables for my family each week? That mostly depends on the size of your family and how much and what you normally eat. If you have a small family and don't normally eat large quantities of veggies, a regular share might be too much. If you have a large family or eat lots of vegetables a regular share might not be enough. In the beginning of the season, in early June, you will mostly get salad stuff. You will probably have to purchase some vegetables from elsewhere. But later on in the season - July through September - you will have a lot of different veggies and lots of some of them. The end of the season will probably taper off again, once tomatoes, peppers, cukes, etc are done for the year. 2. What if I'm away during pick up? You can send someone to get your items for you. 3. How much produce is actually in a share? A half share is 4 items and a full share is 7 items. An item can be a bunch of carrots, 3 tomatoes, 4 cucumbers, head of lettuce, a cantalope, bunch of beets etc.. Items are put out farm stand style and you can choose from up to12+ items in a given week on a first come first serve basis. PLUS the pick your own herbs and flowers has even more and free as items mature 4. Is it organic? Yes we have certified organic produce. The items grown at the pick your own are organically grown until we get that field certified. . |
